Funny and Great Manga/Anime: Kare Kano

I introduce to you a very famous manga/anime not only for Japanese but also for foreign people. Its official name is "Kareshi Kanojo no Jijo" (English tittle: His and Her Circumstances), for short: "Kare Kano".

According to wikipedia, the story plot is: Yukino Miyazawa is a Japanese high school freshman who is the envy of classmates for her good grades and immaculate appearance. However, her "perfect" exterior is a façade, a charade she maintains to win praise. In the privacy of her own home, she is spoiled, stubborn, a slob, and studies relentlessly and obsessively to maintain her grades. On entering high school, she is knocked from her position at the top of the class by Soichiro Arima, a handsome young man whose very existence Yukino considers a threat to the praise on which she thrives, and she vows to destroy him.

"Kare Kano" is a basically love comedy ("Kareshi" means boyfriend and "Kanojo" means girlfriend), but it is so hard for me to explain well how it is funny. Thus first of all, I will show a beginning of story from the original manga by Masami Tsuda.

But by Yukino's careless, Arima finds out that Yukino is just pretending. He uses the information to blackmail her into doing his student council work.

this starts off a series of events that lead to Yukino and Arima falling in love. They then have to cope with a lot of obstacles in their relationship.

At first Masami Tsuda started this manga as three series of a short-comic, however it was received well and the publisher asked her to last the story as a long-comic. Kare Kano as Anime

Kare Kano was adapted into a 26-episode anime television series by Gainax which is known as an anime studio of "The Neon Genesis Evangelion". Almost all of the series was directed by Hideaki Anno.

The opening theme song is "Tenshi no Yubikiri" by Fukuda Mai, and the ending theme song is "Yume no Naka e" by Atsuko Enomoto & Chihiro Suzuki. Enomoto is a seiyu (voice-actress) as Yukino, and Suzuki is also a seiyu as Arima. The original song of "Yume no Naka e" is a famous J-pop song of 1970s by Yosui Inoue.
